Kerala Heritage
Preserving the soul of Kerala through living rituals, ancestral memory, and a courtyard that still breathes in every generation.
Srayikattu family home — Ponkunnam - Kottayam - Kerala
From Courtyard To Chronicle
A heritage shaped by earth, ritual, and responsibility.
Thazhathedathu Nalukettu
Before there was a name, there was a place—the Thazhathedathu Nalukettu, cradled in the sacred soil of Kottayam. Its courtyard was more than architecture; it was the heartbeat of heritage.
Temple & Sarpakavu
The land entrusted us with sacred fire. The Pancha Moorthy Temple and the Sarpakavu grove were not mere shrines—they were living vows between our bloodline and the divine.
Thekumkur Raja
When temple drums broke the silence of festival dawn, one man stepped forward—the Thekumkur Raja. Cloaked in ritual, he led the divine hunt, embodying the king’s warrior soul.
Kumba Kuda & Thala Poli
Even today, two sacred journeys begin at our threshold. In April, the Kumba Kuda rises from our home. In December, our daughters light the Thala Poli lamps.
Adv G Govindapillai
Then came Adv G Govindapillai—born in 1907, son of soil and scholarship. Lawyer. Leader. Artist. Patriarch. From his hands, the Srayikattu name was born.
Service & Legacy
For 25 years, he guided the Bar Association. He rebuilt temples. He united with Gouri Amma of Edathil Veettil, weaving two noble lines into one. He was an leading lawyer not just in Kerala, he was an eminent lawyer who used to practice in all four languages such as Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu.
The Story Continues
And so the story breathes on. In every ritual we keep, every child we name—we are the living echo of Thazhathedathu. The flame will never fade.
